Lip lowering for correction of gummy smile

Sometimes the gummy smile is associated with hyperactive upper lip, rather than long gums. In this cases, it is prudent to correct the lip position and not touch the teeth and gums. A combination therapy is possible as well – for achieving outstanding results, we can “overengineer” the treatment by performing both – correction of the lip position and teeth (crown) lengthening with gum reduction. Unlike the “smile lift” crown lengthening, there will be no need for placing veneers on your teeth due to the minimal work done on the gums, resulting in minimal root exposure and no sensitivity.
